Micheline Helsing is a descendant of Van Helsing, the original monster hunter. She's also a tetrachromat which means she can see the auras of the dead. She captures their energy in silver, specifically the silver in photographic film and paper. Micheline's one of many monster hunters who keep the undead out of our world and protect humans from zombies. The story takes place in an alternate version of today's San Francisco. Micheline thinks she's got a routine haunting under control, but her risky choices gets her and her team, Oliver, Ryder and Jude all infected by a deadly soulchain. Now her father's got her on lockdown while she and her friends have less than seven days to figure out how to stop the soulchain infection.

This is a spooky tale that lets the reader's imagination run wild with "what ifs." What if ghosts were real, how would we deal with them today? What kind of technologies would we use? What kind of people would the Van Helsings have been? We see this world through Micheline's eyes, as she strives to live up to her father's expectations and save her best friends.
